The original rechargeable battery will hold a charge, but only for a few minutes. It powers on just fine with the attached battery pack (2AAs) or while plugged in with the AC adaptor.
It has trouble playing the first 2 or 3 tracks, which will play back very jittery. Once it gets to around track 4 or above, it seems to function just fine. All of the buttons and functions of the player have been tested and all are operational. The headphones, along with the in-line remote, are fully functional as well. The box has some light wear.
