    This early Sony Made In Japan CD Compact Player was tested,
    and did not work or power up
    .
    Disc would not play or pause no matter which buttons were pressed.
    Heavy lid will only open partially and lock when the Open switch is pressed, and can then be manually opened all the way. Do not know if this is correct, and it may be another issue of note with this unit.
