This is an 18-coin, unopened proof set that is mint fresh. To date, this is the largest proof set ever distributed by the U.S. Treasury Department. Each coin was struck by a process that leaves the fields highly mirrored and gives the devices a cameo effect. All coins are sure to have lots of luster. Each coin is composed of the same compounds as the coins produced for circulation. THERE ARE NO SILVER COINS IN THIS SET. The set contains six quarters, one each to recognize the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Guam, America Samoa, U.S. Virgin Islands, Northern Mariana Islands; a Kennedy half dollar, a Roosevelt dime and a Jefferson nickel. To celebrate the bicentennial of President Lincoln's birth and the 100th anniversary of the first issue of the Lincoln cent, four special one-cent coins were distributed throughout the year 2009. A proof strike of each of these designs is included in this set. There are four Presidential dollars (W. H. Harrison, Tyler, Polk, Taylor) and the Native American (Three Sisters) dollar. The coins are separated and displayed in four different plastic holders within the U. S. Mint presentation box. The set pictured is the one being offered and it will be shipped in a mailer-box to protect the OGP. Thank you for looking.
