Description
Nice old copper letter opener, probably dating from the 1940s, from Hazel's Restaurant, which was in Verona, Va., a couple of miles from Staunton. Handle is stamped with the name of the business, notes that it was owned by Mr. and Mrs. Russell Zembower, and gives the telephone number as 255 J2. Has a 6" ruler stamped along one edge. Has two indentations for various thumb/finger positioning. The reverse is stamped with the manufacturer's mark – B&S in St. Paul, Minn.Overall length is 8.75 inches. Nice patina, uncleaned, with some metal pitting.
